He was an Afghan leader who fought against the Russians, and later the Taliban. His organization of the Northern Alliance is given credit for how the alliance remained intact after his death, when he was assassinated by Al Qaeda terrorists two days before the September 11 attacks.
From everything I've read about him he was a great man. He supported the education of women, never rose his voice against his wife, and his tactics continually defeated the Russians in Panjshir, earning him the nickname "the Lion of Panjshir." He is considered a hero by many Afghans.
Sigh..atleast he fought well before his untimely death. I'd be nice to have more people like that in places that that.

Why can't there be more Moslems like him? ;_; Five years after the fact, but, may God's peace be with his loved ones.

One of these days, I'm going to get myself a Ph.D, laminate it, mount it, then bash anyone who argues with me over the head with it.

As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.
